There a many plugins available through PBWiki.

Here I have added a slide show using slide.com.  Once created in slide.com, html is provided that can be embedded in PBWiki.  This could be used to add a PowerPoint.  Rather than save the PowerPoint as a ppt file, it coudl be saved as jpegs, allowing you to embed a PowerPoint used in a lesson.

Google gadgets can be added to the page.  Here I have added an RRS Feed gadget.  Here again it is simply a case of copy and pasting some html to embed the gadget.  There are hundreds of these gadgets - allowing a very personalised page to be created.

 A Chat tool can be included.  There is also a Google Talk gadget that could be added to the page.
